Security & trust
Your email is some of the most private information you have. Mailbrake is built from the ground up to see as little of it as possible — and to keep none of it.
Zero email storage
We never save, log, or keep a copy of your email content. Your text is analyzed the instant you hit send and then immediately discarded. There is no archive of your emails anywhere in our systems — nothing to breach, leak, or hand over.
On-device pre-filtering
Before anything is sent for AI review, a lightweight filter runs entirely inside your own browser. Calm, everyday emails are handled locally and never touch our servers. Only messages that look genuinely risky are checked — so the vast majority of your email never leaves your device.
Encrypted in transit
When an email does need AI review, it travels over a TLS-encrypted connection — the same encryption standard banks use. Your content is never sent in plain text.
We never see your password
Sign-in uses Google’s official, industry-standard login. We never ask for, receive, or store your Gmail password. Mailbrake cannot log into your account or read your inbox.
Minimal permissions
The extension requests only the permissions it needs to work inside Gmail. It cannot access other websites, your browsing history, or files on your computer. You can review every permission before you install.
Payments handled by Stripe
All billing runs through Stripe, a certified global payments provider. We never see or store your card number. And we never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or anyone else.
Our simple promise
- We keep no copy of your email content — not now, not ever.
- The majority of your emails never leave your browser.
- Everything that does travel is encrypted with TLS.
- We never sell or share your data, and never store your card number.
Questions people ask
Do you keep a copy of my emails?
No. We never store email content. Text is analyzed in real time and discarded immediately — it is never written to a database, log file, or any storage system.
Does every email get sent to your servers?
No. A filter runs inside your browser first. Only emails that look risky are sent for AI review. Ordinary emails are handled entirely on your device and never contact our servers.
Can Mailbrake read my whole inbox?
No. Mailbrake only looks at an email at the moment you choose to send it. It does not read, scan, or index your existing inbox, and it cannot log into your Google account.
What happens if your service goes down?
Mailbrake is fail-open by design. If the AI service is ever unreachable, your email simply sends normally after the cooling-off delay — you are never blocked from sending.
Do you sell my data?
Never. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties. Our only revenue comes from the small pay-per-save fee and optional subscription.
